Hiya!
We’re going to keep this update nice and short, because we’re hoping, instead of writing, to MEET YOU IN PERSON!
LMA gathering
Please come to meet us this month to talk about the Solidarity Fund, and Lambeth Mutual Aid generally.
When?
Saturday 26 November, 2-4pm
Where?
Advocacy Academy, 5-7 Vining Street, Brixton, London SW9 8QA
The building is accessible and child-friendly, and has a kitchen so we’ll also have drinks and snacks.
Who is invited?
We’d love to talk with anyone who:
- has received money from the Solidarity Fund
- has donated money to the Solidarity Fund
- is interested in what Lambeth Mutual Aid does
- has ideas for what Lambeth Mutual Aid could do
- wants to get involved
If you would like to come but can’t afford the bus fare, let us know! We can cover it from the Solidarity Fund.
We haven’t organised an open gathering since May 2021 so it’ll be amazing to see some new faces and think as a community about Mutual Aid. Also, people from other local groups including Lambeth Larder and Rastafari Movement will be there, so you can find out more about what they do as well.
£50 grants – Solidarity Fund
The £50 fund grant applications will open on Friday 18 November at 4.30pm. Please remember that only one person can apply per couple or household. Also, if you applied in October, it would be amazing if you didn’t apply again in November, so that the Solidarity Fund can reach more people.
We’re getting more and more requests for grants from the Solidarity Fund, so if you’re able to get involved by sharing flyers, or asking people to donate, or answering emails, please get in touch!
Warm clothes
On Weds 30 November, 10am-12pm, you can collect free, donated adult and children’s (age 5+) winter coats, clothes, and shoes from St. Saviour’s Church, Herne Hill Road, SE24 0AY.
We found out about this from the Lambeth Larder newsletter – sign up here: https://www.lambethlarder.org/ (scroll down to the bottom of the page)
